Since 2011 the International Handball Tournament DaF-Cup Zaprešić is hosted annually by the Grammar School Zaprešić/Croatia. It promotes international youth encounter and German as a lingua franca in the region. School Teams from Austria, Croatia, Germany, Hungary, Slovenia and the Ukraine have participated regularly so far. School teams from Bosnia & Herzegovina, Italy and Sweden have announced their participation in the next tournament.

The anniversary tournament in 2021 had to be postponed due to the Corona pandemic. The preparations are ongoing; the new date of the event will be announced later.
