1st Slovenian CLILiG Robotics Championship

Robotics with games, fun, excitement, languages:
The finals of the “1st Slovenian CLIL Robotics Championship” in German on 12.11.2021 brought educational and entertaining, serious and funny perspectives on German-Slovenian future with robots. The finals took place online due to the Corona pandemic. The teams comprising of elementary and secondary /grammar schools from Lendava in the north-east to Nova Gorica in the west of the country submitted text and video contributions which were analysed and evaluated by a Slovene-German Jury at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Maribor by video sessions. The award ceremony will be held as soon as possible at a central venue, in the regional centres or at the participating schools.
Our gratitude goes to all supporters, , among others the Slovenian Association of German Language Teachers (SDUNJ), the German Embassy Ljubljana, the Goethe-Institut Slovenia. Congratulations to all participating teams. We wish you good luck and success in the next steps.

There are great opportunities and challenges associated with the increasing use of robotics and artificial intelligence. The CLILiG project promotes robotics and German as a foreign language for mixed teams from elementary and grammar/secondary schools. Under the patronage of the Slovenian Association of German Language Teachers (SDUNJ), the project is started and finalised annually as part of the SDUNJ international conferences. The final of the first round will be on 12.11.2021 at the SDUNJ conference in Ptuj; this will be the beginning of the second round 2021/2022 at the same time. An international CLILiG robotics competition will be held in the future with the winners of the Slovenian and the Croatian championship, which is taking place at the same time.
