Ljubljana – A Green Capital in the EU

Report was published on April 11, 2023 (print edition) in the context of “Jugend schreibt” (Youth writes) in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung/FAZ. Research was carried out in Ljubljana and in discussions with Petra Šeme (City of Ljubljana) and Petra Ferk and Boštjan Ferk, PhD (PPP Forum Ljubljana). Roman heritage and traditions in Ptuj/Slovenia

Slovenia – Zimbabwe in 30 minutes” – at the ITB Berlin as part of “Jugend schreibt” (Youth Writes) with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung/FAZ. At the invitation of the Slovenian Tourist Board/STO, Matej Bratusa, Sara Vidovic and Dr. Gerald Hühner (project manager) present the project “Discover Slovenia in FAZ” on March 8th 2023 at the International Tourism Fair, as part 2 of the “Travel Talks” of the STO with Sabrina Gander. Interviews at the stands of tourism organizations from all over the world follow. The work program also includes an interview with the Slovenian Ambassador to Germany, Dr. Ana Polak Petric, on the topic: “Slovenia in Germany”, participation in a Slovenian evening and a tour of historic Berlin. Thanks to the director of the STO in Germany, Rebeka K Bizjak, with whom the overall program of the Slovenian tourism presentation will be discussed at the end. The Travel Talks podcast is available on the STO website. The reports of the INSTITUTE DISCIMUS LAB working group are being prepared for publication on the FAZ page “Jugend schreibt” (Youth writes).

MAJOR AWARD

Great award for “Discover Slovenia in Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung/FAZ”: For the first time in the 36-year project history of “Jugend schreibt”, the prize for an annual project goes to a working group, to the network project from the Ptuj/Maribor region managed by INSTITUT DISCIMUS LAB. On behalf of the project group, Sara Rosalia Gutschi and Vida Glatz, together with project manager Gerald Hühner, will receive the prize, presented by Ulrich Wilhelm (FAZIT Foundation) and Gerald Braunberger (publisher of FAZ), on 13 February 2023 in Frankfurt/Main. This is linked to a training grant for further project work. Many thanks to all the participants and supporters, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, the IZOP Institute, and especially all the colleagues and students involved. In 2022 project was carried out under the auspices of the Youth Centre CID Ptuj; the Slovenian Tourist Board supported the trip to the award ceremony. The project started the next round on 01.02.2023.
