„A life as a marathon run“ –
Kazimira Lužnik was born in 1934 into a family of musicians in the village of Kanal on the Soča River, which was then part of Italy; she witnesses World War II, works as an X-ray technician, builds a ‘little paradise’ with her husband, a paediatrician, and has been running marathons since she was 46 – most recently in Ljubljana in autumn 2024, when, at 91, she was Slovenia’s oldest runner.
How does she look back on her family life, career and history? What is her everyday life like today? How does she keep fit? How does she motivate herself to do sport every day? What hopes, wishes and plans does she have for herself, for young people and for the world? – Just a few of the questions posed by Amaya Kragolnik, Evita Kranjec, Julija Pungeršek and Leon Romih during a talk with Kazimira Lužnik at OŠ Lava/Celje on 16 December 2025: open-minded, fond of life, full of stories and energy, thoughtful, inspiring and with a great sense of humour.
