It doesn’t always have to be about winning gold – sport can also be a way of life.
Slovenia is renowned for its outstanding elite athletes, world and European champions, and record-holders. Above all, however, sport in Slovenia is a way of life.
This is exemplified by the extraordinary life story of Kazimira Lužnik, born in 1934 on the Soča, who is now the country’s oldest marathon runner.
And this is what Anže Zavrl’s MARATHONICA discipline is all about: he plays the harmonica whilst running the marathon, combining Slovenian traditions of folk music and sport.
