Walking the “Walk of Peace” – cross-border Slovenian-Italian cooperation and far beyond.
Maša Klavora, Slovenian director, and a representative of the ‘Walk of Peace’ team in an interview with ‘Jugend schreibt’. The interview takes place on the border between the two countries, in the binational European Capital of Culture Gorizia/Nova Gorica.
The “Walk of Peace” project, along the battlefields of the First World War in Soča/Isonzo, has been internationally recognised since its inception; other cross-border regions in Western and Eastern Europe have followed the initiative. The project is dedicated to preserving historically significant places, facts and figures, but above all to taking steps to promote international dialogue in the present and future: authentic places of learning about yesterday, for today and tomorrow. German and Austrian organisations and youth groups were and are also involved.
The interview was conducted by student journalist Maša Mežnar as part of the project with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung/FAZ, under the patronage of ZRS Koper, Coordination/Photos: INSTITUT DISCIMUS LAB.
